Digital marketing is being held up as the only way to reach consumers, according to new research from digital marketing agency Envision.
The agency found that most of the marketing professionals surveyed were unfamiliar with the practice.
“Digital marketing is often seen as an antiquated and outdated form of advertising.
But it’s not,” said Jessica Gattoni, senior vice president and director of marketing and communications for Envision in a statement.
“Many of us have seen the power of digital marketing on social media, in the news and in our own personal lives, and are now eager to see how it can be used in our businesses.”
Envision surveyed over 1,000 professionals in the digital marketing industry and found that 90% of them said they had heard of digital campaigns but had never taken advantage of them.
Digital marketing has seen rapid growth since its inception.
The industry is expected to reach $7.4 trillion by 2020, according the Digital Marketing Association (DMA).
Digital marketing has been a hotbed for innovation in the market, which is driven by the rise of social media.
The rise of Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat have created an unprecedented opportunity for businesses to engage with customers, but also has created opportunities for marketers to monetize on their social media platforms.
“In 2017, the world has become increasingly mobile-connected, and digital marketing has become a vital part of that,” said Dan Richey, digital marketing consultant at Richeys Digital Marketing Agency.
“But with so much of the industry focusing on digital advertising and marketing, a lack of understanding of digital is limiting our growth and ability to grow as an industry.”
The survey also found that 75% of respondents said they would not work in digital marketing if they could.
In addition, 75% said they felt they did not have a clear understanding of how to make money from digital advertising.
The study found that 85% of those surveyed said they believed they could easily get away with working with their peers in the field without proper training.
However, they also said that digital marketing was a viable option for businesses with smaller budgets.
According to the DMA, there are currently over 4 million digital marketers in the U.S., with the industry projected to reach a $7 trillion market by 2020.
The number of digital marketers is expected increase by 50% by 2020 and the number of employees will reach 7.2 million, with a market cap of $5.4 billion.
